Shipping & Handling Policy

All orders are shipped on Tuesday to arrive prior to the weekend. We ship FedEx Ground, which is 3-5 days for delivery, 3 days for most. Please unpack your order in a cool shaded location and water your plants upon arrival.

We ship native azalea orders from the cooling weeks in September-April, sometimes early May if the weather continues mild. The months of June-August are too hot for azalea plants to be shipped, so no shipping of azaleas in hot months. Azalea orders received during those months will be shipped the first ship date following the order. 

SHIPPING PRICING

We ship via FedEx. They, like all shipping companies add dimensional and fuel upcharges to every order we ship. After years of adjusting product weights and shipping zones around we will now be charging a base estimated shipping fee of $45 for all packages up to 37 pounds. Once we have packed an order and have printed the shipping label, we will adjust the purchase total so that you, our customer only pay what we are charged. This means that if you order two azaleas and pay $45 for shipping, and the actual fee is $36, then we will issue you a $9 partial refund. We will never try to bill you back for more than the base estimate. Orders with many plants will have higher base shipping estimates and will also receive partial refunds when actual costs are less.

How can you maximize your shipping? Buy at least two plants. A single azalea will ship in the same size box as two or three azaleas, but the dimensional upcharge from FedEx is the same. 

As of November 2025, multiple orders shipping to the same address are merged to ship together and the shipping charges are combined. Once we have the actual shipping cost from FedEx, we round up to the next whole dollar amount. We will issue a partial refund if possible so that we are not overcharging for the shipping. 

We ship to the continental USA, only to states east of the Rocky Mountains.

How we pack your order

Your order is packed to be sure your plants arrive in good condition. Below are photos to show how we pack to get you the best plants possible. They can be kept in a cool place out of the sun for a couples of weeks if you are not ready to plant. They will do best if planted within 3 days.
